Started with a delicious breakfast at Brasserie Max at the Covent Garden Hotel - Coffee, fresh orange, eggs benedict and french toast - perfect. Then, to ease our bulging stomachs, ambled down to the river, across Waterloo Bridge and on to the Old Vic, where we went to see a matinee performance of A Flea in her Ear - a French farce by Feydau. Although a couple of the main characters were played by understudies, it was absolutely brilliant and hysterically funny.

Then headed back to Covent Garden for a quick look in the shops, cocktails and finally dinner at Le Deuxieme, our nice little restaurant that we go to from time to time - all very nice, fairly stress free and great fun. A birthday to remember.
