A Birthday Meal

On Sunday, Janet, Mum & Dad and I went to Newick Park for a lovely birthday lunch. Had a duck starter, beef and yorkshire pudding and a beautiful poached pear desert.

Best part of the day though was my present. Unbeknownst to me, Janet and got together with Mum & Dad and organised a day at RAF Manston, during which I go up in a helicopter for about 3 hours, being buzzed by a Spitfire. Apparently it's about the closest thing you can do to actually flying in one. REALLY looking forward to it.

It was a beautiful sunny day, and J & I went for a walk on top of the downs at Firle Beacon as the sun set. The most fabulous view of the night sky appeared before our eyes, which really made me wish I still had my telescope. The perfect end to a very enjoyable day.
