Walking with a banjo.

Been for a couple of nice walks over the last few weeks. One day we went to Rye and ended up coming back via Winchelsea beach to see if we could see some swarming starlings out there at sundown - we didn't see the birds, but were treated to a very special sunset.

Then, that same weekend, we went down to Rye Harbour to walk to Camber Sands - a lovely walk as usual and took in the view fully.

Also in Rye, I bought an old zither banjo from one of the junk shops down there. It's quite a sweet little thing that needs complete renovation. I have taken in apart already and will be hoping my friend Ed can renovate the veneer on the body. It also needs the neck bending back into shape since it has warped a little bit. Not hopelessly so though, so it should be back in playing condition before long. Did some research on it on the net and I reckon it was probably built in the 1880's by a guy called William Temlett - there's a lot of mother-of-pearl work on it, and if we take care it should end up being quite a beauty. Maybe it'll sound nice too, which is why I bought it.
