Mbira Dzavadzimu

After the party at Robin & Rega's the other day, I decided to have another go at my mbira - you may remember this is a thumb piano, the dzavadzimu bit being a particular pattern or layout of keys.

Well, looked on the internet to see about tuning, 'cos I've never managed to reconcile the plinky plinky clunk noise that mine made with the beautiful music Hukwe Zawose plays, and found a whole load of mbira info, including tunings, songs, technique etc etc.

So now all I need to do is get the thing in tune and I'm away. Since none of the keys are in tune, either with a particular note or with each other, and there are 22 of them, could be a bit of work!! Cool.
