Hello - is it me you're looking for?

Well yes, I am still here, but it seems I really have been ignoring this blog for a while - no posts in December!! - probably just too busy living instead of writing about it. But there was an interesting prog on TV about diarists, presented by my old fave Richard E Grant which was a bit inspiring, so maybe I'll be better at making this a regular thing again.

Been really busy with stuff - drumming loads leading up to a Solstice gig on 22nd Dec at VenuU in Hastings with White Horse ande Drumfire - had the show photo'd and video'd, so may be on youtube or myspace before long. All went well and much appreaciated by the quite large audience. We certainly enjoyed it.

Now having a bit of a break from drums til Feb, but starting to take guitar lessons with Janet. Bought us both guitars for xmas - both Yamaha, mine LS16, hers FS720S - both small bodied folky style, quite manageable. Mine with a slightly wider neck to accommodate my fat drumming hands. Found a teacher, Dave Paull, recommended by our friend Iona, who will come to J's house and teach us. Should be an adventure.

The xmas break was long and good, apart from getting the flu just before New Year - I'm getting over it now, Janet is in the thick of it as we speak.

Very fine New Years Eve in canterbury with our friends Pete and Lucy - Pete's new car had been on Top Gear on xmas day with a glowing review and 3rd fastest laptime ever, in snow and ice!!! so he was over the moon and we were all very proud.

Too much to eat and drink (beef and trifle - mmmmm) and slept fitfully with heart going like the clappers and the dogs barking in the kitchen below. Awoke to a covering of snow which hasn't disappeared yet, and it's snowing still with much more forecast the eve. Longest cold snap since 1975 apparently. Woohoo!!

Good films over the last few days - Piaf, very upsetting but good and Moliere, very funny and sweet. Telly was always the best bit about xmas.
