Vasculitis

Been out of action for a few weeks because I've not been well. It started about a month ago with a bit of a rash on my legs - didn't really think that much of it actually, but it got worse and worse and ended up feeling like my legs were on fire and being bitten by mosquitoes at the same time.

Went to the doctor, who identified it as vasculitis, which is an auto-immune disease whereby antibodies attack the lining of the blood capillaries and vessels. This means they bleed under the skin and the resultant rash is very characteristic.

Legs have died down rather now, but a bit concerned that I'm going to end up scarred for life, and also concerned that it might come back sometime.

It has also raised lots of questions about conventional/alternative medicines as I have been to see a homeopath about it. It was a very interesting consultation with him actually, and made a great deal of sense - what it boils down to is that I need sulphur, so I have lots of tiny wee tablets to take over the next few weeks. Still awaiting the results of the last blood test that the doctor sent off for - all the others were clear thank the Lord, so we'll see. Although I understand Vasculitis could be much much worse, I have to say I don't recommend it!!
