Had a very enjoyable evening at Porter's Wine Bar in Hastings Old Town, with ace award-winning jazz singer and pianist Liane Carroll - it was our friend Gill's birthday and she and Liane are good friends, so we had a couple of window tables, a lovely meal of moules (me) and seabass (J) and thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
Liane had her husband playing bass and a trumpet/flugelhorn player who was sat at the next table to us - talk about best seats in the house.
Porter's is a small and intimate little place that I had only rarely been in, despite it being on my old doorstep, and I think we shall be returning before too long.
