Back to Normal.

Everything is getting back to normal after Ethan and Marti's visit. France last Saturday was tiring but good fun - the lad seemed to enjoy himself, we each had a tasty Steak au poivre & frites in the Old City of Boulogne which really is lovely.

Managed to buy a loaf of bread in the boulangerie next door to the restaurant. Ethan had 2 scoops of lovely strawberry icecream, and then had another 2 scoops. Growing boy.

Got back reasonably early but what a palava - to drive in La Belle France, you now have to have a warning triangle, bulb spare kit, a high-viz jacket, a GB sticker and headlight deflectors, even though I never used the headlights, didn't need the warning triangle or the high-viz jacket and didn't blow a light-bulb. Nor did I need the breakdown cover that I bought or the travel insurance. Still, better safe than sorry, I guess. Bloody daylight robbery.

I just wanted to keep on going and head down through France to Creuze and the Dordogne for a few weeks, but had to get back - Ethan flew back to the US on Sunday and it wouldn't have done for him to miss the plane.
