Good times

Been having a pretty good time over the last few days. J & I were selected for an art exhibition, The Battle Contemporary Fine Art Fair (sounds good, don't it!!) and I won Best Emerging Artist prize, which was rather shocking really but also very pleasing. Think the prize is a bit of money, so most welcome. Not sure if anything has sold yet, or if it will.

Went out for a lovely meal at the Wild Mushroom, a very nice little restaurant in Westfield - had a great steak, some duck and a lovely pear tatin for desert. J had partridge, tasty but a little tough apparently.

Had Pete & Lucy and Robin & Ri round for lunch on Sunday - roast pork and Jamie Oliver's balsamic onions and potatoes - very good indeed, although disaster only just averted when I realised the pork wasn't cooked properly - forgot to weigh it, doh!!!

Also an enjoyable party at Colin & Gill Johnson's on the opening of his ceramics open studio this year. Colin's work is really getting good, and one of his light panels featured in a spread on a Hastings house in Coast magazine. He's doing well. It's a little hard to explain his ceramics, but they are 3D wall plaques with LED light systems fitted under curved ceramic panels - the lights change colour and fade in and out to produce no end of fascinating shapes, patterns and designs - like these.

PS Just found out I sold a painting at the Battle Art Fair as well.
